About the Role
Hartham Park Bath Stone is one of Britain's most recognised building stones, used on prestigious projects throughout the UK. As demand continues to grow, we're expanding our underground mining team and are looking for a practical, motivated Mine Operatives to join us.This is a hands-on role in a unique underground mining environment. Working as part of an experienced team, you'll learn every stage of the extraction process, from operating specialist underground plant to producing high-quality stone blocks ready for processing. No two days are the same. One day you could be operating mining equipment, the next trimming and preparing blocks, carrying out maintenance checks, or supporting operations on the surface. With training and experience, you'll become a confident operator across the range of machinery used within the mine.If you enjoy practical work, learning new skills and being part of a close-knit team producing one of Britain's most iconic natural stones, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Learn to safely operate a range of underground mining plant and machinery.
- Assist with the extraction of Hartham Park Bath Stone.
- Cut, trim and prepare stone blocks for further processing.
- Carry out daily pre-start inspections and basic maintenance checks on plant and equipment.
- Support underground production to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Assist with above-ground processing and operational activities when required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the mine and work areas.
- Work closely with colleagues to meet production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Follow company procedures and all health and safety requirements within a mining environment.
- Continue developing your skills across different equipment and areas of the operation.
What We're Looking For

- Mechanical aptitude or experience operating machinery
- Previous experience in quarrying, mining, construction, plant operation, engineering or agriculture would be beneficial but isn't essential.
