CO-SEND & Family Support Leader (Co-Head of Toddler Room)
Location: Minee Monkeys Children's Day Nursery
Hours: Full Time (40 hours per week)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and compassionate practitioner to join our team in a brand-new role that combines high-quality early years practice with SEND support and family engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop professionally, influence practice across the nursery and build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
As our Co -SEND & Family Support leader, you will also work as a Co-Room Leader within our Toddler Room, helping to deliver outstanding care, education and leadership while having dedicated time out of the room to fulfil your wider responsibilities.
About the Role
Working alongside our Lead SEND Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. You will support inclusive practice across the nursery while also building meaningful partnerships with all families, providing guidance, encouragement and early support whenever it is needed.

Your ResponsibilitiesWithin the Toddler Room
- Work as a Co-Room Leader, supporting the Room Leader to deliver exceptional care and education.
- Be a role model for outstanding teaching, learning and interactions.
- Create an engaging, enabling and inclusive learning environment.
- Support children's development through high-quality play experiences.
- Inspire, support and coach colleagues within the room.
SEND Support
Working under the guidance of our Lead SEND Support Officer, you will:
- Deliver targeted support and interventions for children with additional needs.
- Complete observations and monitor children's progress.
- Support the implementation of SEND Support Plans.
- Promote inclusive practice across the nursery.
- Coach colleagues to adapt experiences to meet individual children's needs.
- Prepare resources and contribute to review meetings.
- Liaise effectively with parents and professionals where appropriate.
Family Support
You will also:
- Build positive and trusting relationships with all families.
- Be an approachable point of contact for advice and support.
- Support families with transitions, behaviour, routines, toileting, sleep and school readiness.
- Signpost families to local services where appropriate.
- Organise parent workshops, coffee mornings and family engagement events.
- Promote positive home–nursery partnerships that improve outcomes for children.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds a Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum).
- holds a current paediatric first aid qualification (desirable)
- Has experience working with children aged 0–5 years.
- Has a strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice.
- Has experience supporting children with SEND (desirable).
- Is confident building positive relationships with families.
- Can coach, motivate and inspire colleagues.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Is proactive, reflective and committed to continuous improvement.
