Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook/Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and presentation. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient sourcing as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing up and sanitising surfaces
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of any shortages or expiry dates
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Contribute to the development of new recipes and culinary techniques to enhance menu offerings
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
- Experience working in a restaurant or catering setting is highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Passion for culinary arts and a desire to continually improve skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
