Oranmore Precast is a leading manufacturer of high-quality precast concrete products, supplying customers across the UK from two bases Brandan, Norfolk and Lound, Nottinghamshire.
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance team and support the continued operation of our production facility.
This role is based at our Lound site, where we operate a busy, heavy industrial manufacturing facility where safety, quality, and teamwork are central to everything we do.
The Role
As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment and systems across the site to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.
This is a hands-on role in a heavy industrial environment, and applicants must be comfortable working around large machinery, production equipment, and manufacturing processes. You also will be working outside so must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plant and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical control systems, motors, pumps, conveyors, and production machinery.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and site improvements.
- Complete maintenance records and ensure work is carried out to a high standard.
- Work closely with production teams to support operational requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures and health and safety regulations.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Previous experience working as a Maintenance Electrician within a manufacturing, industrial, production, or heavy engineering environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.
- Flexible, reliable and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to work as a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to work at height from time to time
Desirable
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience within heavy manufacturing, construction materials, precast concrete, quarrying, or similar industries.
- Hold a current IPAF qualification.
- A basic understanding of mechanical maintenance and other maintenance disciplines would be advantageous, allowing you to support the wider maintenance team when required.
- Knowledge of inverter drives and motors would be advantageous
- Previous experience working with automated machinery would be advantageous
