We are a multi-disciplined manufacturer spread over 12,000sqm of estate, with four facilities that house engineering, fabrication, woodwork, finishing and specialist manufacturing.
The Engineering Project Manager is instrumental in helping to facilitate the successful delivery of complex projects by coordinating and managing projects from the initial brief through to the installation on site and completion. This role is varied and will offer a mixture of office and site work.
We are ideally looking for someone with experience of working in the large-scale events, theatre and TV sets, ceremonies, art installations and architectural pavilions industries.
Engineering Project Manager Role
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing a wide variety of projects from the initial brief through to the installation on site and completion. Working closely with all other departments, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and build excellent working relationships with internal departments, external suppliers and our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Clearly define the Project Plan and Scope and Specifications for work packages for a project.
- Produce and manage procurement plans and enquiries and procurement to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Responsible for producing and managing project and work package Scope & Specifications, schedules / programmes, budgets, procurement, Inspection & Test Plans and Technical Files.
- Input into design schedules, design budgets and resources, drawing registers, bills of materials and Design Risk Assessments.
- Identify and manage project variations.
- Provide engineering support by coordination with the design team.
- Work with the Engineering Design Manager to receive designs to project programme.
- Actively monitor and report and ensure projects achieve budgets.
- Work with the Production Management Team to ensure projects are adequately resourced and oversee the relevant manufacturing processes through the production phase.
- Ensure suppliers materials delivery, products, schedule, quality assurance and documentation are produced and delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality.
- Manage and oversee prototyping and test builds required.
- Prepare loading & logistical plans to ensure projects are efficiently transported to & from site.
- Install projects on site, overseeing crew and ensuring project delivery meets client expectations.
- Ensure all systems and procedures are followed with regard to the Quality Management System and Health & Safety Policy.
- Produce project documentation including CDM Regulations and Machinery Directive requirements including pre-construction & construction phase H&S Plans, RAMS, COSHH (with H&S Manager), H&S Files, O&M manuals, Technical Files.
