Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of service
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including training and mentoring team members
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and place orders as needed
- Support the organisation of kitchen schedules, ensuring adequate staffing during service hours
- Serve dishes to customers when required, providing excellent hospitality and customer service
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer interactions
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
