Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health, Safety & Compliance Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will champion health and safety standards across our operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a culture of safety excellence. Your expertise will help us maintain a safe working environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies aligned with industry standards and legal requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to identify hazards and prevent future occurrences.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on health and safety best practices and compliance protocols.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure safety measures are integrated into daily activities.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support managers to carry out their duties and ensuring that those putting people to work have the required knowledge and information necessary
- Ensure operational compliance as per the contract requirements, including but not limited to training, qualifications and competencies.
- Provide managers with information gained from audits which in turn provides them with opportunities for operational and safety improvements.
- Compilation and delivery of monthly client reports.
- Understand the financial implications of decisions taken on site during audits in conjunction with managers.
- Promote the company in a positive and professional light to clients, sub-contractors and the general public.
- Perform programmed observational audits, based on audit schedule
- Compile and review Risk Assessments & Method Statements.
- Conduct Drug and Alcohol testing where required
- Yearly attendance of H&S related seminars to keep up with industry knowledge, innovation and best practice.
- Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in health and safety advisory roles within industrial or utility environments.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices applicable to the sector.
- Certifications in first aid
- Possession or attainment of qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH
- Skilled in report writing with the ability to analyse data for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train staff and liaise with regulatory bodies.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and recommend corrective actions promptly.
- Ability to deal with confidential information in line with GDPR regulations.
Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Gloucester
