About us
Tommo Construction Ltd is a civil engineering and groundworks contractor based near Pwllheli, working across North Wales on land drainage, groundworks and rural and agricultural civils. We're SSIP registered and SMAS Worksafe accredited, and we run modern plant with GPS machine control. We're a small, tight outfit — the work is varied, the standards are high, and we look after the people who turn up and do the job properly.
The role
You'll be working as part of a small site team on drainage installation, kerbing, excavation and general groundworks. Day to day that means setting out and laying pipework to level, digging and backfilling, laying and haunching kerbs and edgings, muck-away and site tidiness, and operating plant where you're ticketed to do so.
What we're looking for
- Proven groundworks experience — you can work to a level and to a drawing
- Solid knowledge of drainage installation and kerbing
- CPCS or NPORS tickets for 360 excavator and forward tipping dumper (strongly preferred; we'll consider funding the right person to get them)
- Valid CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence — essential, as sites are spread across the region
- Reliable, safety-conscious and able to crack on without being chased
Nice to have
- Experience with GPS machine control
- Confined space, streetworks or first aid tickets
- Welsh speaker (useful with local clients and landowners, not essential)
What we offer
- Competitive rate, paid weekly
- Steady year-round work — we're not a stop-start outfit
- Modern, well-maintained plant
- PPE provided / training and tickets funded / van and fuel card for the right candidate
- A small team where you're a name, not a number
