Job Title: R&D Engineer
Job Summary:
John Bean Technologies Marel Corporation (JBTM) is seeking a talented and motivated R&D Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and optimisation of new processes, ensuring seamless integration from R&D to manufacturing. The R&D Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the scaling up of production while maintaining quality standards and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Develop and implement research and development plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Conduct feasibility studies and process optimisation to ensure successful development and implementation of new processes.
- Provide technical support during the scale-up of new processes, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Monitor and analyse production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies throughout the development process.
- Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to stakeholders.
- Train and mentor production staff on new technologies and processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in research and development, process engineering, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of R&D processes and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in data analysis and process optimisation tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience in the food processing or packaging industry.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
