Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid driving licence, experience in commercial driving, and familiarity with delivery parcels . The ideal applicant will be organised, punctual, and capable of handling physical demands associated with the role.
Duties
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring items are secured during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures upon delivery.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within a similar industry.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo up to 25 kg.
- Familiarity with local routes and navigation tools is desirable.
- Clean DBS is essential.
