Weekends plus holiday and cover shifts
Steep Street Coffee House is a bookshop café on the Old High Street in Folkestone. We are lucky to be situated in the heart of Folkestone Old Town surrounded by quirky shops, artists’ studios and apartments. When you join our small team you will become part of the local community too.
We are looking for a warm and positive person who likes working with others. We are a popular destination and during busy times our team are required to be quick on their feet. For this reason the job is suited to people who like the buzz of working in a fast paced environment.
The shifts we have available are on weekends so you will need to be free on these days. Ideally you will also be available on some weekdays to help with regular cover shifts.
In this role you will be required to:
- Warmly welcome people into the café
- Take orders and process transactions on an EPOS till
- Cut cakes and serve up savoury food
- Work as part of a team to provide efficient and friendly service
- Work the occasional pot washing shift
- Clear tables front of house
- Help with the closing down of the café at the end of each day
- Complete daily cleaning tasks
- Help to provide holiday and last- minute sick cover

If you have a can-do attitude, lots of enthusiasm and love interacting with customers then we'd love to hear from you. We offer a fixed weekly rota but, as we are open seven days a week, some flexibility is required.
