Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Educator to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment for young children, fostering their development through engaging activities and personalised care. The Nursery Educator will work closely with colleagues, parents, and children to promote a supportive learning atmosphere.
MUST BE LEVEL 3 QUALIFIED IN CHILDCARE
Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that support children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and confidence
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behaviour for reporting to parents and management
- Collaborate with colleagues to organise daily routines and special events within the nursery
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development, behaviour, and needs
- Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, organised, and conducive to learning at all times
- Assist in managing nursery staff schedules and providing guidance to junior team members when necessary
- Drive nursery vehicles for outings or transportation of children when required (if holding relevant licences)
Skills
- Proven experience in childcare or nursery settings with a strong understanding of early childhood education principles
- Management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Leadership qualities that inspire confidence among colleagues and children alike
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and creativity
- Strong organisational skills to manage daily routines efficiently
- Knowledge of childcare regulations and health & safety standards within nurseries
- Driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site activities

Pay: £13.50 per hour
