Job Purpose
To lead the management of pupil data across the Federation, ensuring all records are accurate, compliant and effectively maintained. The postholder will be responsible for SIMS administration, statutory returns, admissions processes and providing high-quality data and reporting to support school leaders and governors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate pupil data across the Federation.
- Lead the administration and development of SIMS, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Manage admissions, transfers, leavers and pupil records.
- Coordinate annual academic year rollover processes and pupil data updates.
- Manage Free School Meal (FSM) and Pupil Premium data.
- Maintain assessment tracking and reporting systems.
- Produce pupil, attendance and performance reports for Senior Leaders, Governors and staff.
- Lead the preparation and submission of statutory returns, including the School Census.
- Monitor data quality and carry out regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Provide advice, training and support to staff on data processes and systems.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
Person Specification (Essential)
- Significant experience working with SIMS in a school environment.
- Experience managing School Census and statutory returns.
- Strong understanding of pupil data management and school systems.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret and present data clearly.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience working across a federation or multi-academy trust.
- Experience with other MIS platforms such as Arbor or Bromcom.
- Knowledge of data protection and information governance.
- Experience delivering staff training.
