Nursery Cook
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Cook to join our friendly team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for young children in a safe, hygienic and caring environment. A passion for healthy eating, children's nutrition and maintaining the highest standards of food safety is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children.
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene and COSHH regulations.
- Cater for children with food allergies, intolerances and special dietary requirements.
- Manage stock rotation, complete kitchen records and be involved in food ordering.
- Work closely with the nursery team to provide a positive mealtime experience for the children.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a nursery, school or other busy kitchen environment.
- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate.
- Knowledge of children's nutrition and the ability to plan healthy, balanced meals.
- Experience managing food allergies and special dietary requirements.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow company policies and procedures.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one if required).
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently.
- A positive attitude and a genuine commitment to children's health and wellbeing.

Job Type: Full-time (approximately 35 hours per week, with flexibility considered)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
