Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care.
- Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and fitness classes to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and create personalized activity plans.
- Encourage participation by building strong relationships with residents through effective communication skills and empathetic engagement.
- Monitor residents during activities to ensure safety and provide assistance as needed.
- Maintain organized records of activities conducted, resident participation, and feedback for continuous improvement.
- Foster a lively, positive atmosphere that celebrates residents’ abilities and promotes joy in daily life.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia care and Alzheimer's care techniques.
- Strong communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience in caregiving or care home environments is advantageous.
- Ability to plan, organize, and lead diverse activities with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to enhance residents’ quality of life.
