We are seeking a versatile, detail-oriented Web Content & Design Specialist to oversee and maintain our web presence, including primary marketing pages and customer help centers/knowledge bases. In this hybrid role, you will be the bridge between design, content, and front-end management—creating visual graphics, formatting user-friendly help documentation, making direct HTML/CSS updates to various company websites, and optimising all web content for modern search engines (SEO) and generative answer engines (GEO).

Update, organise, and maintain marketing web pages and customer help centres/knowledge bases to ensure accuracy and seamless user experience.

Structure documentation and articles for maximum readability, logical navigation and ease of use.

Perform routine sitewide updates, link audits and content refreshes.

Design eye-catching web assets, including hero banners, help guide diagrams, infographics, icons, and promotional graphics.

Maintain brand consistency across all public-facing web pages and support documentation.

Optimise image formats, sizes, and dimensions for fast loading times without sacrificing visual quality.

Apply custom layout adjustments, formatting fixes and styling tweaks using clean HTML and CSS.

Ensure all web pages and knowledge base articles are fully responsive across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

Troubleshoot display bugs, broken layouts, or formatting issues across major browsers.

Manage download links for new software releases.

Implement technical and on-page SEO best practices (meta titles, description tags, proper header hierarchy, structured data/schema, alt text).

Optimise content for Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) to ensure help articles and web pages serve as reliable sources for AI search summaries (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews).

Perform basic keyword and search intent research to guide content organisation and improve organic visibility.

Front-End Development: Solid proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3 (ability to hand-code structural updates and styling tweaks without relying strictly on page builders).Experience in building new websites, i.e. wireframes, themes, adding content.

Graphic Design Tools: Proficiency in modern design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator), or Canva.

CMS & Help Desk Platforms: Hands-on experience with modern Web Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot, Click Dimensions) and Help Center software.

SEO & GEO Expertise: Strong understanding of search engine optimisation principles, on-page optimisation, content structuring for AI/answer engines, and tools like Google Search Console or Ahrefs/Semrush.

PPC Experience: Desired, not essential.

Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for layout alignment, typography, visual balance, and clean code formatting.

Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and fix broken web layouts, visual glitches, or navigation issues.

Cross-Functional Communication: Comfortable working alongside marketing, customer support, and software development teams to turn ideas or support docs into polished web pages.

Organisation: Excellent organisation and communication skills with ability to self-manage. A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved.

Experience with basic JavaScript/jQuery for minor interactive web elements.

Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 compliance).

Experience analysing web traffic via Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Experience within technology or engineering services would be advantageous.
