HCM Music Academy, based in Ware, Hertfordshire, is a well-established music school offering instrument lessons for all ages and skill levels. Our lessons are conducted both at the academy and in various primary and secondary schools throughout the area.
We tailor our lessons to align with each student’s personal goals, whether they’re learning for fun or preparing for exams. As a Rockschool and Trinity exam centre, we host exam days once a term. Our tutors are also well-versed in teaching the ABRSM syllabus, ensuring a well-rounded musical education.

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Piano Teacher to teach one-to-one lessons in a primary school in Ware, Hertfordshire. This is a self-employed position with a starting rate of £26.50 per hour for one-on-one lessons. The position is expected to begin in September 2026
Availability on a Friday would be ideal however, we may be able to move lessons to another day for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for guitar instruction tailored to primary school students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their musical skills.
Ideal Attributes:
- Reside within a reasonable commuting distance from Ware.
- Hold a DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.
- Have resident or settled status in the UK.
- Possess a Grade 8 certificate or equivalent.
- Be comfortable engaging with both parents and students.
- Have experience teaching.
- Be proficient in teaching various grade syllabi, including Rockschool and Trinity.
