The Role
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our dynamic clinical team. You will provide support to the Nursing and Embryology teams as required and you will care and support patients through the various stages of fertility treatment with empathy, professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients during treatment appointments, including venepuncture and chaperoning during procedures.
- Assisting in theatre during IVF/ICSI egg retrievals, sperm retrievals, inseminations, embryo transfers and other theatre procedures.
- Supporting the admission and discharge processes for patients and their partners in recovery.
- Supporting the embryology team with the co-ordination of receiving samples and witnessing processes in the laboratory.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy environment at all time and maintaining records to reflect this.
- Daily and weekly stock checks and ordering of consumables. Ensuring adequate supplies are maintained and batch numbers are logged as per protocol.
- Ensure compliance with HFEA guidelines within scope of practice
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and uphold clinical governance standards
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Health Care Support Worker
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide empathetic patient support
- Experience in working in fertility, sexual health, midwifery or gynaecology (desirable).
- UK visa or working permit
- Venepuncture experience
- Experience in assisting during procedures and aseptic techniques (desirable).
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Experience using electronic patient record systems
- Professional, discreet and able to build trust quickly
- Ability to work autonomously and contribute to multidisciplinary teams

Contracted Hours 37.5 per week, with occasional weekend working.
Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
