Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Service Bus Driver to join our team for backshift work. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating buses to transport passengers efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a professional attitude, excellent communication skills, and a fantasic customer service. The Service Bus Driver will play a vital role in ensuring passenger comfort and safety while maintaining punctuality and adherence to schedules.
Duties
- Safely operate the bus along assigned routes, adhering to traffic laws and company policies
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing excellent customer service
- Conduct daily safety checks and routine maintenance on the bus, reporting any issues promptly
- Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle before and after shifts
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and any incidents during service
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and passengers using clear English
- Handle unforeseen situations calmly and professionally, including traffic delays or passenger concerns
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure passenger safety at all times
Skills
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and experience with a Category D licence.
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to operate buses safely over long shifts, demonstrating attentiveness and responsibility
- Organised with the ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules
- Experience in passenger transport is highly desirable
