We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Support Specialist to provide technical expertise across camera and lens systems, supporting productions, cinematographers and internal teams throughout the equipment lifecycle.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leading cinematographers, production teams and equipment manufacturers, supporting a wide range of productions while contributing to the ongoing development of camera and lens services.
The successful candidate will combine extensive technical knowledge with strong relationship-building skills and a genuine enthusiasm for camera technology and production workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert for camera systems, lenses, monitoring solutions and associated equipment.
- Advise Directors of Photography and production teams on the selection and use of camera and lens systems.
- Lead and support camera and lens testing, evaluation and technical demonstrations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of emerging technologies, industry developments and production workflows.
- Work with manufacturers and suppliers to evaluate new products and equipment.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Directors of Photography, camera crews, production companies and internal teams.
- Provide technical consultation and support throughout project planning and delivery.
- Ensure client requirements are understood and effectively supported through technical expertise and practical solutions.
- Represent the business at relevant industry events and technical demonstrations where appropriate.
- Plan and deliver technical familiarisation and training sessions covering camera, lens, lighting and grip equipment.
- Support the development of camera trainees and technical team members through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Promote continuous learning and technical excellence within the department.
- Support equipment investment decisions through technical evaluation, market knowledge and feedback from productions.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to assess new technologies and equipment opportunities.
- Contribute to the continued development of the camera and lens offering through practical operational insight.
- Ensure adherence to company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Promote safe working practices within testing and technical environments.
- Support risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Maintain high standards of operational and technical compliance.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant experience working as a Camera Technician, Senior Camera Technician or similar technical role within the film, television or broadcast industry.
- Advanced knowledge of digital cinema camera systems, including ARRI, Sony and RED platforms.
- Strong understanding of cinema lenses, monitoring systems and camera accessories.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to build credibility and trusted working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within technical environments.
Desirable
- Experience within a professional rental or hire environment.
- Familiarity with inventory, rental or asset management systems.
- Relevant technical qualifications or manufacturer certifications.
- IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- An established network within the film, television or production industry.
