Job Summary
This is a busy, varied support role at the centre of the practice. You will be the person who keeps paperwork moving, deadlines visible and clients informed, so that our accountants can get on with the client work.
Day to day you will:
- Answer incoming calls, take clear messages and deal with routine client queries
- Scan, file and upload documents to our client portal
- Prepare letters and correspondence for clients, HMRC, Companies House and other third parties
- Raise and issue client invoices, and follow up on unpaid ones
- Update job statuses, deadlines and client records on our practice management system
- Manage diaries, and arrange client appointments and internal meetings
- Chase clients for outstanding records, signatures and information
- Handle incoming and outgoing post, order office supplies, and pick up general admin as needed
Experience
- Previous office administration experience, experience in an accountancy or professional services firm is a bonus.
- A confident, friendly and professional telephone manner
- Well organised, with genuine attention to detail — you notice when something doesn't look right
- Able to juggle several deadlines at once and keep track of what is outstanding
- Comfortable with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and quick to pick up new systems
- Discreet and reliable when handling confidential financial information
We are more interested in someone who is thorough, proactive and pleasant with clients than in a perfect match on software as training will be given on our systems.
Pay: £12.71 per hour

- Administrative: 2 years (preferred)
