Job summary
We are looking for a QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) administrator to work in our GP surgery. You will be responsible for ensuring the practice meets targets set out in QOF, which rewards surgeries for providing high-quality care. Your role will involve collecting, monitoring, and accurately recording patient data on long-term conditions (like diabetes, asthma, or heart disease), running regular searches to identify patients needing reviews, and supporting clinicians by preparing recall lists and reports. You will also help maintain accurate records for audits and ensure the practice is up to date with QOF requirements, ultimately supporting patient care and practice income.
Main duties of the job
- Be responsible for the QOF recall system to ensure maximum QOF points are achieved on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
- Use EMIS in analysing QOF Outcomes.
- Read and refer to the QOF Business Rules (latest version) regularly. Keep up to date with annual QOF changes.
- Co-ordinate invites to patients for Long Term Conditions
- Undertake clinical searches and investigate data as appropriate
- Provide guidance to QOF Lead and Practice Manager on areas for the QOF year
- Prepare patient lists for clinical review
- Identify and action errors impacting QOF achievement and action missing QOF data
- Manage Learning Disability and SMI (Severe Mental Illness) registers
- Provide guidance and support to the clinical team on correct coding
- Adhere to strict guidelines for General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Job responsibilities
A key part of the role is to undertake comprehensive management of the practice long term condition recall system, along with all other recalls within the clinical system to support patient safety, QOF achievement and ad-hoc monitoring requirements. This part of the role requires excellent IT skills.
As an administrator you will need to be adaptable in your style of working to support the needs of the Practice staff depending on the task at hand. The role will require a mix of data based work and patient facing work so a strong communication style is important for the role.
Although the role is focused a lot on the recall management the role is integral to our admin team so candidates need to be responsive to the needs of the service. This will include being flexible with their approach to tasks as identified by the Practice Manager.
You will be required to have the confidence to work closely with management and clinical teams to support the smooth running of the Practice.
