Are you organised, good with numbers and looking for a career where you can make a real difference?
If you're someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and learning new skills, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
This exciting role offers hands-on experience while you work towards the CIPP Level 3 Payroll Administrator Apprenticeship, an industry-recognised qualification that is fully funded by NELC.
What’s the role all about?
As a Payroll Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced payroll practitioners, HR specialists and pensions professionals who are dedicated to helping you succeed. Through regular feedback, mentoring and structured learning opportunities, you'll gain the knowledge and confidence needed to build a successful career in payroll.
What will your day look like?
As a Payroll Apprentice at NELC, you will develop your skills and gain experience across the full range of payroll activities. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues, learning how to process payroll accurately, support quality assurance checks, and help ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
As your knowledge grows, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in pensions and statutory payments administration, payroll systems, data reporting, customer support and service improvement activities. You'll also contribute to exciting payroll projects, year-end processes and compliance work, giving you a well-rounded understanding of how payroll supports employees, managers and the wider organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to build valuable skills in data accuracy, problem-solving, communication and customer service while working towards a recognised professional qualification.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is excited by numbers, enjoys solving problems and is ready to start building a rewarding career in payroll. You'll have achieved GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) and have a keen eye for detail. Most importantly, you'll be enthusiastic about learning, developing new skills and taking on new challenges. If you're organised, reliable and take pride in delivering accurate work, we'd love to hear from you.
Previous office or customer service experience would be beneficial, but it isn't essential. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and the motivation to succeed. If you're eager to gain valuable experience, achieve a recognised qualification and become part of a supportive team that will help you grow every step of the way, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Why join us?
This is more than just an apprenticeship, it's the start of a rewarding career. At NELC, you'll be part of a friendly and supportive team that is committed to helping you learn, grow and succeed. You'll gain practical, real-world experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification, giving you the skills and confidence to build a career in payroll and beyond.
From day one, you'll be supported by experienced professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping you reach your potential. You'll have the opportunity to develop valuable technical and professional skills, contribute to meaningful work that supports our employees and communities, and be part of an organisation that values learning, development and continuous improvement. If you're looking for an opportunity to earn, learn and make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
