Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects and creating quotations for main contractors, sub-contractors and merchants for pre-hung doorsets. This role requires a strong understanding of project scope, materials, labour, and cost control measures to support our organisation’s financial objectives and project planning processes.
Contracted Hours:
40 hrs Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00
Location: West Bromwich - You may be required to travel to other sites across the UK on an ad-hoc basis.
Responsibilities
- Analyse project plans, customer specifications, and evaluate architects drawings to determine scope of work and required resources.
- Check all products against technical information including fire certificates & data sheets
- Cost project based on information received on a project by project basis.
- Ensure all quotations are accurately entered into our CRM system and create job folders
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favourable terms.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents.
- Maintain organised records of all estimates, calculations, and supporting documentation for future reference.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Adhoc admin tasks to support the office and team
- Comply with Health and Safety responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Proven experience in estimating within relevant doorsets industry sectors (essential)
- Strong understanding of project management principles and construction or manufacturing processes.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents effectively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of cost control techniques and budget management practices.
- Excellent attention to detail
- A minimum of 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Maths and English
