Turnbull & Company is a family-owned builders’ merchant with long-standing roots across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. We’re looking for a reliable Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our Building & Plumbing branch at Newark and play a key role in delivering to our trade customers and supporting daily branch operations.
This is a hands-on, practical role supporting both our lightside & Heavyside teams and focused on getting things right for customers and working closely with our local branches.
What you’ll be doing
- Loading and unloading our delivery vehicles ensuring that all products are safely loaded, secured and are correct against the customers’ orders.
- Making local deliveries of building, plumbing & heating products.
- Ensuring delivery is safe to make and respecting customer’s property.
- Keeping the warehouse tidy, accessible and in good operational order at all times
- Prepare stock for delivery.
- Controlling the movement of stock in and out of the warehouse.
- Providing first class customer service.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with experience, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.
What matters most is:
- A Full Driving licence is required and a licence for 7.5t with driver CPC is desirable but not essential.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work
- Being reliable, practical, and safety-conscious
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable dealing with customers in a polite, professional way
- Forklift experience is desirable but not essential (training available).
- Class 2 License is also an advantage but essential
