We are seeking an experienced and versatile HR & Health Safety Manager to join our growing powered access equipment rental business. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with strong expertise in both HR and H&S, capable of managing all aspects of people operations and workplace safety in a small company environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, driving culture, and supporting business growth across UK operations.
HR Functions
- Manage full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding
- Handle employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinaries, and performance management
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies in line with UK employment legislation
- Lead performance review processes and support managers with employee development
- Manage HR data, records, and reporting using HRIS system
- Coordinate payroll in conjunction with the finance team
- Advise leadership on workforce planning, talent management, and organisational change
Health & Safety Functions
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company Health & Safety policy and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments across all operational areas and ensure controls are in place
- Lead incident investigation, reporting, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and manage external audits
- Conduct workplace inspections and promote a positive safety culture
- CIPD Level 5 or above qualification
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification
- 5+ years of experience in a combined HR & H&S role or similar
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and H&S legislation
- Proven experience managing employee relations and complex HR cases
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- High level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality
09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
