Team Manager – Supported Accommodation (Adults)

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Team Manager to lead our Supported Accommodation service for adults in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading teams, maintaining high standards of care, and making a real difference in people's lives.
As Team Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the service, ensuring the people we support receive safe, person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing.
Working closely with the Responsible Individual, you will oversee staffing, quality, compliance, budgets, and service development while ensuring the service operates in line with CQC regulations, company policies, and best practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Service Management
- Lead the daily operation of the supported accommodation service.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive culture for staff and the people we support.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support at all times.
- Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements, and company policies.
- Work closely with senior management to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, quality assurance, and service development.
- Build positive relationships with commissioners, healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders.
Team Management
- Recruit, induct, train, and develop a motivated and skilled staff team.
- Prepare and manage staff rotas to meet service needs and budget requirements.
- Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals, and performance reviews.
- Promote staff wellbeing, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
- Manage staffing efficiently to minimise agency usage.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure support plans and risk assessments are accurate, person-centred, and regularly reviewed.
- Monitor the quality of support delivered and implement improvements where needed.
- Promote independence, choice, dignity, and positive outcomes for the people we support.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Complete statutory notifications and reporting in line with CQC expectations.
Financial & Operational Responsibilities
- Manage the service within agreed financial budgets.
- Monitor staffing costs and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Support occupancy and the promotion of the service.
- Contribute to policy development, business planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You will have:
- Previous management or senior leadership experience within supported living, supported accommodation, residential care, or adult social care.
- A good understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and relevant legislation.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing budgets, staffing, and service performance.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
A full UK driving licence is desirable.
