Car Parts Delivery Driver – Reading
Salary: £28,571.40 per year
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:40pm
No weekends
Marathon Warehouse Distribution is looking for a reliable and professional Car Parts Delivery Driver to join our Reading branch.
As one of the UK’s leading independent automotive parts distribution companies, we supply motor factors and automotive businesses across the country.
This is a full-time position, becoming permanent following successful completion of an initial trial period.
The Role
As a Car Parts Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for delivering automotive parts to our customers throughout the local area.
You will be representing Marathon on the road and dealing directly with our customers, so we are looking for someone who is friendly, dependable and takes pride in providing a good level of service.
Your duties will include:
- Delivering car parts to customers accurately and on time
- Checking deliveries and loading them onto the company van, including the safe handling of heavier automotive parts such as brake discs and exhaust components
- Providing a friendly and professional service to customers
- Handling parts carefully and ensuring they arrive in good condition
- Keeping the company van clean and presentable
- Carrying out basic daily vehicle checks
- Following company driving and health & safety procedures
- Working in accordance with the company Driver Policy, with driving standards monitored through vehicle telematics
- Assisting the branch team when required
What We’re Looking For
- Applicants must be aged 21 or over for insurance purposes
- A full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years for insurance purposes
- A reliable and punctual approach to work
- A safe and responsible approach to driving
- Good knowledge of Reading and the surrounding area would be an advantage
- A professional and courteous manner with customers
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work well as part of a busy team
- Previous experience within the automotive parts industry would be an advantage, although it is not essential
