We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Front of House Team Member to join our vibrant café team at The Drift Cafe, Cresswell. Under new ownership (Wild North Cafe Ltd – also known as The Sidecar Guys), we’re entering an exciting new chapter and are building a fun, supportive workplace where great service and good vibes come first.
This role is key to creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests and delivering excellent coffee and service every time. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for hospitality, enjoy working in a busy environment, and take pride in making great coffee.
Duties
- Greet and seat customers with a friendly, professional manner.
- Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Prepare and serve high-quality hot and cold drinks, including espresso-based coffees.
- Assist with light food preparation, following food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the café and service areas.
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
- Upsell menu items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Handle cash and card transactions with accuracy and care.
Skills & Experience
- Previous café or barista experience is highly desirable.
- Confident in making espresso-based coffees and using a commercial coffee machine.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent time management, especially during busy service periods.
- A friendly, positive attitude and a genuine desire to provide great customer experiences.
