Footprint Recycling is a fast-growing waste management and sustainability business helping organisations reduce waste, improve recycling performance, lower carbon emissions and meet evolving environmental compliance requirements.
As the business continues to expand, we are seeking an ambitious and proactive Finance Manager to work closely with the founders and senior leadership team to support the next phase of growth.
This is an opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial SME where you will play a pivotal role in developing robust financial reporting, strengthening controls, improving processes and providing the commercial insight required to support strategic decision-making.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the founders, the Finance Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while driving improvements across reporting, systems, controls and financial processes.
This role will suit a qualified accountant who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment and has the capability to build structure, improve visibility and create scalable finance processes that support a growing business. It's an office based role.
You will become a trusted business partner to the leadership team, providing meaningful insight that helps drive profitability, cash generation and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & MI
· Prepare monthly management accounts and board reporting packs
· Deliver timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting
· Develop meaningful KPIs and management information across the business
· Analyse revenue, profitability, margins and operational performance
· Produce forecasts, budgets and cash flow reporting
· Support decision-making through commercial analysis and financial insight
Controls & Governance
· Strengthen financial controls and governance processes
· Review and improve existing finance procedures and policies
· Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information
· Manage month-end and year-end processes
· Support audit and statutory reporting requirements
· Monitor working capital and cash management processes
Process Improvement
· Identify opportunities to automate and streamline reporting processes
· Improve financial systems, workflows and reporting capabilities
· Develop scalable processes to support future business growth
· Drive efficiencies across finance and wider business operations
· Support system enhancements and implementation projects where required
Business Partnering
· Work closely with the founders and senior leadership team
· Provide financial insight to support commercial and operational decisions
· Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve business performance
· Support strategic projects, investment decisions and growth initiatives
· Act as a trusted advisor across the business
About You
· ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
· Previous experience within an SME or entrepreneurial business environment
· Strong management accounting and reporting experience
· Proven track record of improving financial controls and processes
· Experience producing meaningful MI and KPI reporting
Commercially minded with strong analytical capabilities
· Comfortable operating in a hands-on role with broad responsibilities
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
· Proactive, organised and driven by continuous improvement
