We're building a Finance function that's genuinely fit for a digitally transformed, high-growth security business, and this role sits at the centre of that build. This is a temporary contract, initially 3 months, with a likelihood of extending on a rolling monthly basis. You'll lead a team of Credit Controllers, own day-to-day ledger allocation, and drive the collections and DSO performance that keeps our cash flow healthy. You'll also act as first point of escalation for complex client, Service Partner and insolvency matters, balancing hands-on credit control work with genuine people leadership.
We're advertising this as a full-time Monday to Friday role, but we're open to discussing flexible working hours or days for the right candidate, salary would be pro-rated accordingly.

Key Accountabilities
Outcomes

Leads and develops a team of Credit Controllers, setting individual and team KPIs against DSO, collections and query-resolution targets

Owns ledger allocation and rebalancing across the team to ensure fair, effective coverage

Acts as first point of escalation for complex client, Service Partner and insolvency matters

Drives continuous improvement across the credit control function, embedding process changes across the team

Reports team and individual performance to senior management, highlighting credit risk trends
Principal Tasks

Coaches and supervises Credit Controllers through regular one-to-ones, performance reviews and development plans

Reviews aged debt reporting and DSO performance, identifying trends and areas of concern

Resolves client and Service Partner queries within agreed SLAs, escalating where required

Liaises with billing, operations and finance teams to resolve queries promptly

Prepares and submits proof of debt claims and represents TKC in insolvency proceedings

Supports month-end reporting cycles, including bad debt provisions

Covers team members' ledgers during absence to maintain continuity of collections
An excellent candidate for this role will be/have
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a credit control role, including experience mentoring or supervising others

Five-year checkable work history

IT literate, with intermediate/advanced Word and Excel, plus working knowledge of Outlook and Sage (or another accounting package)

Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a small team

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities to strict deadlines

Excellent negotiation, influencing and mathematical skills
Desirable Skills & Experience

Working towards or holding a Diploma in Credit Management

Experience with accounting packages beyond Sage

Experience representing an organisation in insolvency proceedings
