Location: Remote with flexibility to travel to nationwide offices
Contract: Full time
Hours: Core operating hours 9am – 5pm.

EK Outreach Services is a specialist provider of one-to-one teaching for students who are unable to access mainstream school environments due to medical, emotional, or learning difficulties. We work with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing individualised support to meet their specific learning needs. As a trusted SEND provider, we offer tailored educational support to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve academic success. Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Recruiter to oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, from job description development to onboarding, whilst championing best practice, equality, and safer recruitment principles. Working closely with the Head of Outreach and our HR and Finance Coordinator, you will drive recruitment initiatives that align with our organisational development objectives and inclusive values.
You will be expected to develop creative sourcing techniques, source high calibre candidates utilising the appropriate recruiting channels and ensure best practice recruitment processes are adhered to specifically around equality and importantly undertaking Safer Recruitment Training to ensure all staff are fit to work with children and young people. You will be expected to operate in line with our organisation’s inclusive values.
You will need to manage the implementation of EK Outreach’s recruitment initiatives to achieve our development plan objectives. This includes working with our HR and Finance Coordinator to manage the recruitment budget.
Whilst this role is expected to be undertaken on a remote basis, there must be flexibility to travel to nationwide offices (London, Midlands and Manchester) in accordance with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Job Description & Advertising:
· Develop and write engaging job descriptions and adverts that reflect hiring managers requirements and organisational values.
· Submit advertisements across appropriate recruitment channels, including job boards and social media.
· Research and utilise the most effective recruitment channels to attract high-calibre candidates, ensuring cost-effectiveness and a strong return on investment.
· Manage the implementation of recruitment initiatives in line with the organisation's development plan objectives.
2. Shortlisting & Sourcing:
· Develop creative sourcing techniques to expand our talent pool.
· Conduct CV sifts and manage the shortlisting process, ensuring all resourcing processes meet legal requirements and are fair, fit, and inclusive.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge on best practice recruitment and selection techniques.
3. Interviewing & Selection:
· Manage and coordinate the selection and assessment processes, including organising interview timetables, arranging and coordinating interviews.
· Distribute interview packs and shortlisting materials to interviewees in a timely manner.
· Work with staff to ensure those actively involved in the recruitment process are adequately trained in EK Outreach's processes, best practice, and legal requirements.
4. Onboarding & Administration:
· Administer the process for new employees, including preparing contracts, offer letters, and pre-employment checks (e.g. right to work, qualifications, DBS checks, and references).
· Coordinate the handover of new employees and facilitate the induction process.
· Liaise with the Head of Outreach and HR and Finance Coordinator to ensure they are aware of start dates and other relevant details.
· Carry out all administrative duties in the recruitment process, including logging application forms/CVs, and organising candidate folders.
5. Compliance & Reporting:
· Ensure all recruitment processes adhere to UK legislation and EK Outreach's inclusive values.
· Undertake Safer Recruitment Training to ensure all staff are fit to work with children and young people.
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting throughout the recruitment process.
Person Specification
Essential
- Excellent administrative, communication, and organisational skills.
- Effective decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good understanding of HR legislation to ensure EK Outreach meets legislative requirements.
- Ability to present information clearly in forms, tables, and spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use IT packages relevant to the role, including recruitment platforms and Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Experience of recruitment in an education setting.
- Experience of writing job descriptions and adverts for a variety of positions.
- Experience of recruiting in-house.
- Knowledge of Safer Recruitment practices and the statutory requirements for working with children and young people.
