Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will support dentists during clinical procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of hygiene and organisation within the practice. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilising instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for use
- Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed
- Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
- Support with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and managing patient correspondence
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the clinical environment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Monitor patient wellbeing throughout their visit, offering reassurance and addressing any concerns
- Adhere to infection control protocols at all times to uphold the highest standards of hygiene
Qualifications
- Experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is desirable; minimum 6months experience required
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically to patients
- Good organisational skills to manage appointments, records, and clinical supplies effectively
- Basic IT skills for maintaining digital patient records and using practice management software
- Knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care is advantageous
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
