Apprentice Pharmacy Technician (Level 3) – 27 Month Fixed-Term Apprenticeship

Gibsons Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy committed to delivering outstanding patient care. We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual to join our team as a Level 3 Apprentice Pharmacy Technician.
This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining a nationally recognised qualification and working towards registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
Our apprenticeship programme also includes an accredited Accuracy Checking qualification, giving successful candidates the opportunity to qualify as an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT). On successful completion of the programme and registration requirements, you will be eligible to apply to join the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) register as a Pharmacy Technician.

What You'll Do
Working alongside experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, you will:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Assist in the safe and accurate dispensing of medicines.
- Support NHS and private pharmacy services.
- Learn about medicines, patient safety and pharmacy legislation.
- Manage stock and maintain accurate records.
- Work as part of a busy, friendly and professional team.
- Follow pharmacy procedures and maintain patient confidentiality.
About the Apprenticeship
This is a 27-month fixed-term apprenticeship combining practical workplace experience with structured academic learning.
You will receive protected study time during your paid working hours to support your learning. However, this is a professionally recognised qualification and is academically demanding. To successfully complete the course, you will be expected to undertake additional independent study and coursework outside of working hours.
Applicants should therefore be committed, self-motivated and able to balance the demands of both work and study throughout the programme.
Essential Requirements for the Apprenticeship
- Right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK for at least 3 years to meet apprenticeship funding eligibility requirements.
- Must not be in full-time or part-time education.
- Must not already hold, or be studying towards, a qualification at the same or a higher level in a similar subject.
- Aged 16 years or over.
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent).
- Must be willing to undertake a DBS check during the recruitment process.
