Saturday Tearoom Assistant – The Museum of East Dorset Tea Room
Our client, the Museum of East Dorset Tea Room is looking for a friendly, reliable Tearoom Assistant to join their welcoming team. If you enjoy working with people, take pride in great customer service, and like being part of a community‑focused environment, this is a great opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving light meals, drinks, and refreshments
- Setting up refreshments for venue hire events
- Supporting and working alongside volunteers
- Keeping the tearoom stocked, organised, and ready for service
- Assisting with stock ordering
- Maintaining high food hygiene standards
- Ensuring tables, counters, and preparation areas remain clean and tidy
- Operating the till and handling customer transactions
- Contributing to the smooth running of daily tearoom operations
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a café, tearoom, hospitality, or similar customer‑facing environment
- Confident verbal communication and a warm, helpful manner
- Enjoys serving customers and creating a positive experience
- Comfortable using a till and handling basic numerical tasks
- A team player with a flexible, can‑do attitude
- Able to work independently and take initiative when needed
- Some catering experience and awareness of food hygiene standards
- Willingness to complete food hygiene training
- Flexibility to work additional shifts when required
Permanent Saturday Role
- 7.5 hours every Saturday (9:30am–5:30pm, including 30‑minute unpaid lunch)
- Occasional additional shifts on weekday evenings or other days and covering holiday/sickness
