Are you looking for your next exciting challenge?
Do you want to work for an organisation that cares about you, values you and looks forward to what we can do together?
Then come and join the team at YMCA Cheltenham as a Night Concierge
It is an exciting time to join our organisation in this role, as we celebrate 170 incredible years of continuous service to the communities of Gloucestershire; supporting those most in need and working alongside generations of families and individuals over an astonishing 17 decades of meaningful and transformative work.
We are looking to recruit a Night Concierge, primarily, based at Williams House, Vittoria Walk, Cheltenham, with a sense of social purpose to help improve the lives of others and make a lasting difference in the lives of children and adults throughout the County of Gloucestershire.
In return, you will receive a generous pension, life assurance, excellent ancillary benefits and you will become part of the YMCA Cheltenham family.
Being part of YMCA Cheltenham includes free gym membership for you and your household, as well as being invited to our fun and annual events exclusively for you and your family. You will also have access to and be in receipt of training and professional development opportunities for your entire career with us.
The role is 40 hours a week, working on a rota basis with weekend work. The shifts are on a rota where you work 4 days on and 4 days off 8pm to 8am.
The salary is up to £28,800 per annum, depending on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.
ABOUT YOU
We are inviting applications for the role of Night Concierge, based at Williams House, Vittoria Walk, Cheltenham.
If you can work with tact and diplomacy, apply judgement and common sense, and react sensitively and with emotional intelligence when dealing with the complex or sensitive circumstances of vulnerable people, then this is the perfect role for you.
You will have had previous experience of paid or volunteer work in a similar role and have a Level 3 in a relevant qualification (or a desire to work with us to achieve this).

OUR VALUES

YMCA Cheltenham will ENGAGE with Empathy, Kindness, Generosity and Grace.
YMCA Cheltenham will BE Thoughtful, Discreet, Ethical and Respectful to all.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Night Concierge role is responsible for the safety and security of the building and therefore ensuring that the accommodation remains adequate and safe for all residents between 8.00pm and 8.00am, on a shift pattern.
This role is an opportunity to build on the work undertaken by key workers during the daytime hours. The role will also involve making sure the project is quiet, safe and secure throughout the night.
The Night Concierge is part of the Night Team in a large, supported housing team providing accommodation related services and support to the residents. As a Night Concierge you will be required to ensure residents abide by the agreed terms and conditions of occupation of the premises and to report any breaches of that agreement. You will be required to maintain accurate records of incidents, contacts and financial transactions through recordings on the housing management system and incident report forms. You will be required to keep your management chain informed about all matters relating to the housing project and shifts worked. You will need to supervise, induct and train staff (YMCA and Agency).
You will be expected to exercise initiative and be a self-starter – understanding and identifying where your work can make the greatest impact in achieving the Charity’s aims and objectives.
