Conveyancing Assistant
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum Full-time | Monday to Friday
We are looking for a bright, organised and enthusiastic Conveyancing Assistant to join our growing conveyancing team.
This is an entry-level position and would suit a recent graduate or someone looking to begin a career within the legal profession. Previous legal or conveyancing experience is not required, as full training will be provided.
The Role
You will work alongside our conveyancing team and help ensure that property transactions are opened, progressed and administered efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening new client files and setting matters up on our case management system.
- Sending initial documentation and client care paperwork.
- Obtaining and organising identification, source of funds and other compliance documentation.
- Carrying out standard electronic ID and compliance checks.
- Liaising with clients to obtain outstanding information and documents.
- Ordering searches and other standard conveyancing documents.
- Assisting fee earners and paralegals with the day-to-day progression of transactions.
- Providing clients, estate agents and other parties with routine updates.
- Assisting with completion and post-completion administration.
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised electronic files.
- Ensuring tasks and deadlines are properly recorded and followed up.
You will not be expected to make legal or complex compliance decisions. You will work within established procedures with support and supervision from experienced members of the team.
What We’re Looking For
We are more interested in your attitude and ability than previous legal experience.
You should be:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using computers and learning new systems.
- A clear and professional communicator.
- Comfortable speaking with clients by telephone and email.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Reliable and willing to take responsibility for your work.
- Keen to learn and develop.
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
A university degree is welcomed but not essential.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a busy property department and learn how residential conveyancing works from start to finish.
For someone who performs well, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and progress into more experienced legal assistant, conveyancing paralegal or other legal roles within the firm.
We are looking for someone who wants to develop with the business rather than simply fill an administrative position.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
