Our three hospital charities fundraise so that Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust can go above and beyond for their patients. Our NHS Charities are embarking on an exciting and significant period of income growth. The Head of Corporate Partnerships role leads our Corporate Partnerships team. Alongside maintaining existing corporate relationships, you will lead the team in diversifying our corporate offer – including the establishment of a corporate giving club, Corporate Advisory Group and an array of new engagement and income generating opportunities.
Alongside fundraising for both Guy’s and St Thomas’s Charity and Guy’s Cancer Charity, you will also lead a major income drive for our upcoming £70m capital appeal for Evelina London Children’s Charity.
Strategy development/implementation and planning
- Devise a multi year Corporate Fundraising Strategy to position the team as a major source of income focussing on strategic partnerships and new business conversion
- Project income and expenditure budgets and hold overall responsibility for the Corporate Partnerships annual budget, ensuring that accurate and timely information, presentations and report are delivered to the Fundraising and Finance department. Including monthly tracking and reconciliation, pipeline and risk management and opportunity scanning.
- Set targets and KPIs alongside senior leadership, translating these to expectations for team members, and monitoring/overseeing delivery.
- Devise a range of corporate engagement products and propositions focussing on priority sectors and qualified targets
- Lead the Corporate Advisory Group – an established group of senior volunteers and utilise their networks across sectors to convert new income opportunities
- Devise and implement creative stewardship plans with partners to increase partnership value and company engagement, which deliver on both the donor’s and the Charities’ wider strategic objectives.
- Identify key industry trends and market dynamics to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
Account Management/New Business
- Retain and oversee the current portfolio of Corporate accounts and sponsored programmes with the team, achieving specified contractual obligations and expectations, reporting and income targets, whilst actively working to maximise their value.
- Drive a growth mindset including winning large, multi-year five- and six-figure level valued partnerships, ensuring they align with the organisation’s goals and values.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of partnership deliverables.
Leading and developing team
- Provide strategic direction to the Corporate Partnerships team, setting individual and team goals, and empowering team members to take on responsibility, accountability and successful execution of strategic projects.
- Accountability for delivery of the Corporate Partnership team, acting appropriately as an interface between senior leadership and the team.
- Empower, inspire, and nurture the Corporate Partnerships team to deliver objectives, whilst cultivating a ‘can-do’ and solutions focussed attitude.
- Establish a strong culture of performance tracking – embedding KPIs at both an individual and team level
- Unlocking barriers for the team and more broadly, supporting the development and progression of team members.
Working with others
- Establish effective stakeholder relationships across Guy’s and St Thomas’ Foundation and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust.
- Work with wider Heads of to align priorities and activities across teams, engaging with and recognising accountability for cross-team and organisation priorities and promoting a culture of peer support across the peer group.
- Work collaboratively across the wider organisation (Engagement & Experience Teams, Funding and Impact Team, Strategy and Innovation) to meet partnership and campaign needs.
- Demonstrate entrepreneurial mindset in identifying opportunities for commercial growth across both the Trust and Foundation networks
General
- Undertake appropriate networking within the sector to engage with peers across the Corporate area, and keep abreast of market trends and information.
- Represent the Charities as an ambassador at all times and supporting key fundraising events.
- Create and role-model a positive culture, in line with the Foundations core values.
- Regularly travel to meetings in London and across the UK when necessary. Other duties as required, including but not limited to, attending functions outside of office hours.

Knowledge, experience, and qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience and proven success in account management and new business from any background in the charity and/or the commercial sector
- Strong leadership skills to motivate team, set a clear vision and plan for execution. Including advanced coaching skills to drive strong performance
- Proven success in establishing high-value (five- and six-figure) partnerships and maximising the value of existing donor relationships.
- Experience of managing a sales / lead pipeline – including tracking progress across portfolios and ensuring a strong focus on cultivation, conversion and renewals / uplifts
- Experience in managing complex growth projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Substantial experience in client facing roles including with influential stakeholders and senior volunteers.
- Experience of effectively managing and substantial budget/resources/funding and an understanding of financial management procedures.
- A track record of managing and leading a high performing team.
- Sound understanding of the legal, regulatory and financial responsibilities of a corporate fundraising charity.
