Dyehouse operative positions at our Dyehouse Facility in Dewsbury. Initially 2 shift rotation 6-14, 14-22.
Duties:
- The safe unloading of bales from transport or the warehouse, checking the documentation to ensure that the correct bales are selected
- The loading of the dyeing machines to ensure level dyeing and good reproducibility
- The scouring, double scouring and chem-set of both hank yarn and scouring of loose stock fibre
- Manually weighing out of dyestuff’s or chemicals and mixing as is required ensuring that the correct PPE is worn at all times
- The load and unload chemicals from dispensers ensuring that the correct PPE is worn at all times
- The load and unloading of Dyestuff from dispensers ensuring that the correct PPE is worn at all times
- Take samples as required and make additions
- The safe unloading of yarn in hank form and loose stock fibre so that it can be presented to the hydro unit to give the most uniformly drying
- The running of the dryer to achieve the required moisture content for that particular quality hank or loose stock fibre
- Present fibre to and operate the bale digester in a safe manner
- Bale up both the yarn hanks and loose stock fibre to produce bales of the correct weight, dimension so that they can be moved, stacked and transported safely
- The despatching of bales ensuring all the correct documentation has been processed
- To operate a fork-lift truck, complying with all aspects of safety as per the training
- Provide cover for the boiler and testing as required
You should have:
- Excellent track record of time keeping and attendance
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Legal entitlement to live and work in UK and valid identification
- Ability to stand and good level of physical fitness
- Motivation and flexibility
