Primary Purpose
The Finance Controller will lead and manage the core operations of the business, - finance, IT, HR, and company administration, and will manage and robustly maintain the company ERP, MS Business Central, to ensure reliable department and company management reporting, and budgetary controls across the group. They will be part of a core team driving a digital transformation of the business.
This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the business operates in a controlled, structured, and disciplined way, with accurate reporting, strong cost management, and effective operational support across all departments.
The role combines financial control, team leadership, and business partnering, with a clear focus on delivering reliable management accounts and embedding budget accountability across the business.
This is suited to a strong Finance Manager or Finance Controller looking to take ownership of a broader finance and administration function within a growing business.
This is an office-first role, requiring a strong on-site presence to lead the team and work closely with stakeholders across the business, with active business partnering with our commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance & Reporting (Primary Focus)
- Own monthly management accounts, Board reporting, and financial controls across UK and Middle East Entities
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and audit requirements
- Maintain strong financial discipline across all entities
2. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Lead the annual budgeting process across all departments
- Establish clear budget ownership and accountability
- Monitor performance vs budget and ensure timely variance reporting
- Drive cost control and promote disciplined spending across the business
3. Systems & Reporting Infrastructure
- Take ownership of, manage and maintain the company’s ERP, Microsoft Business Central
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across the system
- Support reporting improvement through tools such as Power BI and Jet report (or similar)
- Drive standardisation and efficiency in reporting processes
4. Operating (Finance, IT, HR & Administration)
- Oversee the day-to-day smooth running of finance, IT, HR, and Administration.
- Ensure systems, processes, and infrastructure are reliable and well-managed
- Manage third-party providers (IT, payroll, etc.)
- Maintain a structured and efficient operating environment
5. Working Capital & Financial Management
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, and liquidity
- Monitor FX exposure and oversee financing arrangements – trade finance, and FX reporting.
- Maintain control over receivables, payables, and inventory impact
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop a small internal team
- Build a collaborative, accountable, and well-organised function
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and ways of working
- Drive performance and continuous improvement
- 7. Business Partnering
- Work closely with department heads to support planning and performance
- Provide clear financial insight and challenge where required
- Help teams understand and take ownership of their budgets and results.
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Finance Controller
- Strong track record delivering high-quality management accounts and reporting
- Experience managing or supervising a small team
- Strong systems experience (Business Central and wider MS ecosystem; Power BI beneficial)
- Comfortable overseeing IT, HR/admin, and operational infrastructure to support a digital transformation of the business.
Qualifications
Qualified accountant (CIMA preferred, or equivalent with strong management accounting experience

Pay: £57,000.00-£62,000.00 per year
