Care is Central is seeking motivated and passionate Housekeeping Assistants who are compassionate, caring and with a keen eye for detail to join our newly established team at our brand new Care Village in Flitwick.
Red Kite Meadows is a large care village comprising of an 88-bedroom care home for older people, an 88-apartment independent living complex, an 8-bedroom short breaks service for younger adults with learning and physical disabilities and a community core including function rooms, and a café/bistro.
You’ll join a supportive, hands-on team with a full training programme, helping us provide high-quality care across Central Bedfordshire.
Role:
Maintain a clean, safe, hygienic, and odour-free environment for residents, visitors, and staff, following all housekeeping procedures.
Duties of Housekeeping Assistant:
- Complete housekeeping, laundry, and documentation accurately
- Follow COSHH regulations and maintain up-to-date training
- Clean all areas to high standards in line with the housekeeping manual
- Safely manage spillages and use cleaning equipment (training provided)
- Use cleaning products as instructed
- Secure cleaning equipment and chemicals at all times
- Use safety signage when required
- Report faults and remove unsafe equipment
- Follow safeguarding policies and Duty of Candour
Requirements:
Experience is helpful but not essential—values and attitude matter most.
You must:
- Be eligible to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Have good English communication skills
- Be caring, positive, and team-oriented
- Complete an Enhanced DBS check (paid by us)
