Role Description
Tutors work on a self-employed basis with flexible working hours.
The Online Tutor will be responsible for delivering personalised online lessons, preparing tailored lesson plans, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals. Responsibilities include providing subject-specific tutoring, preparing students for examinations and entrance assessments, offering constructive feedback, writing regular progress reports, and maintaining accurate lesson records.
Qualifications
Essential
- Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry (e.g. GCSE, A Level, IB, SAT, IELTS).
- Experience teaching the UK curriculum, or excellent academic achievement in the relevant subject area.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, effective and well-structured online lessons.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, parents and colleagues.
- Ability to assess student progress and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
- Confidence using online educational platforms and digital teaching tools, including Microsoft Teams.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to manage time effectively while working remotely.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a related subject.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
- Teaching qualifications or relevant subject-specific certifications.
