Live In Available - Immediate Start
We’re looking for a Sous Chef to join our team at Lewtrenchard Manor, helping us deliver exceptional guest experiences while building a rewarding hospitality career.
About This Role
We're at an exciting point in our journey at Lewtrenchard Manor. Following a significant restoration of this beautiful Jacobean manor house on the edge of Dartmoor, our restaurant Origin is finding its feet — and we're looking for a Sous Chef who wants to be part of something that's genuinely growing and improving over time.
This isn't a kitchen that's already arrived. It's one that's on its way — and we think that's a more interesting place to be.
Discover Lewtrenchard
Lewtrenchard Manor is nestled on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, offering the perfect balance of peaceful countryside living and easy access to the best of Devon and Cornwall. Surrounded by rolling hills, ancient woodland and miles of walking and cycling trails, it’s an ideal location for anyone who enjoys the outdoors and a slower pace of life.
Nearby market towns provide independent shops, cafés and local events, while the vibrant city of Exeter is less than an hour away, offering excellent shopping, restaurants, culture and transport links. Whether you’re looking for adventure, community or somewhere to unwind, Lewtrenchard offers an exceptional quality of life in one of England’s most beautiful rural settings.
What we're looking for
Experience in a restaurant kitchen is important, along with a solid grounding in cooking techniques and an eye for presentation. You'll need to be comfortable leading the section when required and keeping things organised during service.
Beyond that, we're really looking for someone who's calm under pressure, takes genuine pleasure in doing things well, and wants to be part of a team that's building something together. A good understanding of food safety and hygiene is essential — and a warm, hospitality-minded approach to the people around you, in the kitchen and beyond it, goes a long way here.
