Job Title: Events Manager (LGBTQ+ Pop-Up Project)
Company: The Queer Aesthetic
Location: Brighton, UK
Job Type: Part-Time / Project-Based
(With scope to grow into a long-term role)
About Us
Welcome to The Queer Aesthetic (TQA), an emerging, community-rooted, LGBTQ+, female-founded brand building a safe, affirming beauty and self-care sanctuary right here in Brighton. We’re throwing a series of queer self-care and aesthetic ritual pop-ups designed by our community, strictly for our community.
We believe self-care is resistance. At our core, we are driven by Love, Fun, Connection, and Authenticity, turning self-care into a joyful celebration of our bodies, total gender euphoria, and deep connection.
We are fiercely non-gendered, welcoming, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-aware. Trans, non-binary, women, neurodivergent, and disabled siblings are deeply seen here. Our goal isn't corporate profit; it's about building a community, listening to what they need and want, and building a foundation that grows into our future permanent salon.
The Role
We are looking for a passionate and brilliantly community-minded Events Manager who lives and breathes our community to take the lead on the physical magic of our pop-up events. You’ll work closely with our founder to help turn spaces into affirming, fun, safe, beauty ritual havens, manage the flow of the day, and makes sure our practitioners and guests feel completely heard, safe, and cared for.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Venue & Layout Magic: Helping coordinate space setup, styling cozy "ritual zones", and making sure the room flows effortlessly from pampering to high-vibe connection.
Artist & Community Bestie: Working closely with our practitioners, founder & creative team so everyone has what they need to shine on the day.
On-the-Ground Flow: Managing guest arrivals, checking people in with a warm smile, and keeping the energy glowing, safe, and joyful.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Lived Experience: As part of the LGBTQ+ community, bringing a deep, authentic understanding of our culture, joy, and unique spaces, alongside a fierce commitment to intersectional inclusion (trans, non-binary, women, neurodivergent, and disabled siblings are warmly and enthusiastically encouraged to apply).
- Passion & Experience: Experience or just a massive personal passion for events management, venue coordination, or community organizing.
- Collaboration: A collaborative spirit and a positive outlook, someone who loves to co-create, problem-solve, and genuinely has fun building a grassroots journey from scratch.
- Location: Based in or around Brighton and able to hang out at planning sessions and live pop-up events. (We will also consider further afar if you are comfortable having meetings from home and would be able to attend the pop-up in Brighton in person.)
What We're Offering You
- A fair financial split of pop-up event takings and ticket sales.
- Hands-on, unforgettably fun experience building an independent queer lifestyle brand from the ground up.
- Priority consideration to join our core permanent team as we scale toward opening our physical salon space.
- A supportive, outrageously creative, and safe working environment rooted entirely in celebration, love, and looking out for each other.
How to Apply
Just drop me an email at [email protected] telling me a little bit about yourself, why you fancy jumping on board as our Events Manager, and we’ll grab a coffee (or a drink) for a relaxed chat to see if we're a match!
