Working Site Manager (Joinery) High‑End Domestic Construction
We’re looking for a time‑served joiner who can run domestic building jobs confidently from start to finish. Someone who’s good on the tools, good with people, and knows how to keep a site moving without drama. Our projects are high‑end refurbishments, extensions, attic conversions and new builds across Edinburgh City and the suburbs, so tidy work and a professional manner are essential.
About the role
You’ll be the person running the job day‑to‑day, working on the tools while managing workflow, quality, trades, and health & safety. You’ll keep the site organised, make sure details are right, and maintain the standard our clients expect.
What you’ll be doing
- Running domestic construction projects on site
- Working on the tools while managing productivity and workflow
- Coordinating trades and keeping the job moving smoothly
- Making sure drawings are followed accurately
- Keeping standards high with tidy work, tidy site, tidy finish
- Managing health & safety on site including construction phase plans and RAMS, making sure compliance with CDM Regulations is met
- Speaking with homeowners when needed and keeping communication clear
- Representing the company professionally at all times
What you need
- Fully time‑served joiner
- Minimum 5 years experience managing jobs (not just assisting)
- SMSTS certificate preferred — expired is fine, we’ll help you renew it
- Strong experience in domestic refurbishments, extensions, attic conversions and new builds
- Able to read and interpret architects’ and engineers’ drawings
- Good communicator who can keep a site calm, organised and productive
- Driving licence
- Own tools
- Tidy appearance and a clean, organised approach to work, our clients expect it
- Pride in your work and a professional can do attitude

- Pay £22 - £25 per hour depending on experience and responsibility level.
CIS is also available, paying £25 – £28 per hour depending on experience and responsibility level.
