Kings Centre of Learning (Care Consort Ltd) | Bedford | Sessional, Summer Holidays | £18-22 ph
We are delivering Bedford Borough Council's Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme this summer — and we're looking for an exceptional Site Lead to run it.
Starting Friday 17th July 2026, you'll lead a small team delivering fun, active, food-inclusive holiday sessions for children and young people in Bedford — including some with SEND and additional needs.
What you'll do:
- Lead the day-to-day running of the holiday club — activities, staffing, and site safety
- Hold day-to-day safeguarding responsibility on site, reporting to our Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Manage a team of 3–4 playworkers and activity staff
- Oversee food provision in line with HAF requirements
- Build great relationships with children, parents, and the council's HAF team
- Keep attendance records and contribute to programme reporting
Who we're looking for:
- Experience leading or deputising in a holiday club, play scheme, youth club, school, or similar setting
- A recognised safeguarding qualification or willingness to complete Designated Person training before start
- Confident managing a small team and staying calm under pressure
- Experience with children with SEND or additional needs is a strong advantage
- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to complete before start)
- Enhanced DBS (we will process this for you — apply now as checks take time)
Why join us:
We deliver across three local authorities — Bedford, Harrow, and Buckinghamshire — with year-round holiday provision, term-time alternative education, and SEND short breaks. Strong summer delivery can lead to ongoing work across our programmes.
To apply: send your CV and a few lines about your relevant experience to [email protected] with the subject line "Bedford Site Lead — [Your Name]".
Interviews are being held immediately. Early applications strongly encouraged — we are recruiting now for a 17th July start.
Kings Centre of Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, two references, and our safer recruitment process.
Pay: £18.00-£22.00 per hour
