Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Baby Room Leader to ensure a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, along with a genuine passion for early childhood education. This role involves creating a nurturing environment where babies can thrive, ensuring the highest standards of childcare are maintained at all times. The Baby Room Leader will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging appropriate activities, and fostering positive relationships with both children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the baby room team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities tailored to infants’ needs.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and emotional security of all children in the baby room.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, daily routines, and any incidents or concerns.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development and daily experiences.
- Uphold compliance with childcare regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that promotes learning through play and exploration.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience or ready for the next step within a childcare or nursery setting.
- Extensive experience working with children, particularly infants or in early childhood education.
- Strong understanding of nursery practices, child development stages, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Childcare qualification recognised within the UK (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
- Valid driving licence is essential due to the location.
- A caring attitude combined with professionalism and patience in handling young children’s needs.
