Executive Assistant (Chief Executive Office) – OR110608 (Admin & Clerical)
Hours: 37 Hours Per Week (Office-based Monday to Thursday, typically working from home on Friday. Working pattern will mirror that of the Chief Executive and may vary depending on business requirements.)
Contract: 26 Weeks Temporary Contract
Location: New Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 6SL, United Kingdom
Pay Rate: PAYE £145.04 per day
Target Start Date: ASAP (Planned Start Date: 17 August 2026)
We're recruiting an Executive Assistant to provide confidential, proactive executive support to the Chief Executive. This is a key executive support role, ideal for someone highly organised, professional, and experienced in supporting senior leaders within a fast-paced and complex environment.
About the Role:
As an Executive Assistant, you'll provide high-level executive, administrative, and operational support to the Chief Executive, ensuring effective coordination of diaries, meetings, communications, governance processes, and business priorities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Providing confidential, proactive executive support to the Chief Executive
- Managing the Chief Executive's diary, meetings, and daily priorities
- Coordinating communication between the Chief Executive, elected Members, Senior Leadership Team, and external stakeholders
- Preparing and organising meetings, agendas, reports, and supporting documentation
- Supporting effective decision-making and governance processes
- Managing correspondence and ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales
- Handling highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Prioritising and managing competing demands within a fast-paced environment
- Working closely with the Executive Support Team Leader to deliver efficient executive support services
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and resilience of the Executive Support Team
Requirements:
We're looking for someone highly organised, proactive, discreet, and confident supporting senior leaders while managing multiple priorities in a demanding executive environment.
You'll Ideally Have:
- Previous experience providing executive or senior-level administrative support
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion when handling confidential information
- Good judgement and the ability to work effectively within a complex environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
- Ability to attend the office in line with the Chief Executive's working pattern
- Data Protection Level 1 Training
- Required documents available for candidate submission
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
- Experience supporting senior leaders within local government or the public sector
- Understanding of governance processes and political awareness
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and external partner organisations
