Job Summary
VDC Deliveries is working with a major delivery partner as service provider of last mile delivery services in the Merseyside area of the UK. To help us with the delivery of this service, we are seeking reliable and motivated Van owners interested in delivering Parcels to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for collecting, transporting and delivering parcels to various customers locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery.
This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Responsibilities
- Pay for your own taxes and National Insurance contributions.
- Pay for your Vehicle maintenance, Insurance and fuel costs.
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling of products during transport.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times and any issues encountered.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and heavy lifting.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record; experience driving larger vehicles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading processes.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members effectively.

Delivery Expectations
- Large and Small parcels (including boxes and bags)
- On average drivers deliver between 75 to 120 parcels a day.
- Faster and more experiente drivers can deliver between 150 to 250 parcels a day.
- Average delivery time: 5.5 hours for 100 parcels; 11 hours for 250 parcels.
Delivery Areas
- Focus Areas: Skelmersdale & Ormskirk areas (L39, L40 and WN8 postcodes) and Liverpool (L1,2,3,4,5,6, 13 and 15).
- Other Areas: Chester area (CH postcodes), and Wigan, Widnes, St. Helens.
Delivery Days
- Must be available to work 5 to 6 days a week.
- Maximum of 7 days a week.
Pay Structure:
- Payment is per parcel delivered and collected.
- Weekly Payments, with earnings paid every Monday, with maximum of two weeks in arrears.

Pay: £1,050.00-£1,500.00 per week

- We are looking for drivers that are looking to start as soon as possible and can commit to work 5 to 6 days every week, is that you?
- Loading is done from Huyton L35, can you commute there every day without an issue?
- What is the maximum number of parcels and stops, you have ever delivered in a day?
- You will be doing multi-drops deliveries. Every day you will have 40 to 60 boxes larger and small boxes (average 15kg in weight), and the rest will be small plastic parcel bags which can makes it up to 140 to 200 parcels in total, depending on volume availability. - Are you comfortable with the fact that you will have to spend 1 to 2 hours every morning at the collection site, preparing your parcels for loading and loading your parcels into your own van by yourself, before you are able to go out and do your deliveries? (knowing that you are not paid separately or additionally for this time).
- Our delivery areas are Skelmersdale (WN8-0,6,7,8,9, postcodes), Ormskirk (L40, L39) and Liverpool (L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L13, L15), which area are a you most interested on?
