The 2-Man Delivery Trainer is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and training delivery teams made up of drivers and porters across various locations. This role ensures all new and existing team members are trained to company standards, follow operational procedures, and deliver a high level of service to customers. The trainer will support the development of safe, efficient, and professional 2-man delivery crews.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit suitable drivers and porters for 2-man delivery operations in line with business needs.
- Sign up and onboard new drivers and porters, ensuring all required documentation, checks, and compliance records are completed accurately.
- Deliver training to new and existing delivery teams across various locations.
- Train staff on company standards, delivery procedures, customer service expectations, health and safety requirements, and safe manual handling practices.
- Support induction programs for all new starters to ensure they are fully prepared for operational duties.
- Assess trainee performance and provide coaching, guidance, and additional support where needed.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, service standards, and legal requirements.
- Carry out refresher training to maintain performance, safety, and service quality.
- Work closely with operations and management teams to identify training needs and address performance gaps.
- Maintain accurate training records and report on recruitment, onboarding, and training activity.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on professionalism, safety, reliability, and excellent customer service.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience in 2-man delivery, logistics, transport, or warehouse operations.
- Experience in recruitment, onboarding, or staff training.
- Good understanding of delivery procedures, health and safety, and manual handling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and motivate staff across different locations.
- Organised with good administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to assess performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Flexible approach to travel and working across multiple sites.
- Full driving licence preferred.
